This took over 4 hrs with tradesman huffing& puffing and banging around. Ring his colleague for back ip… Talking the whole time but I came to realise he was talking to himself a good 90% of the time. Very odd !! Obviously he was having problems. Tried 4 different locks and back plates. After removing parts of the pvc door & ‘repacking’ it ….he eventually raised the metal plate on the frame side which allowed the lock to work. At one point i asked him to just put the old lock back on but this was ignored. I have used Shefflock in the past and the same job was done in about 10 mins. One thing is for sure, I wont use you again. There are plenty of locksmiths around without having to go through that palaver again !!! Expensive too. Almost £300 Not happy with the work or price to be honest.
Took a punt with this company as we needed emergency boarding - if I could give it (and the engineer who attended - Nick) more that 5 stars, I would. Fast response via Whatsapp - although the engineer was late, due to unforeseen and absolutely unavoidable difficulties, he kept in excellent contact as to his whereabouts. When he arrived, he was extremely efficient, polite and kind, the boarding up was solid and sturdy and he cut a cat flat hole in the board (even edging with duct tape). Thank you so much, Chris and Nick, for making an extremely angsty time so much easier!
Can not fault this company from initial enquiry to the finished job everything was 100% Got me booked in almost straight away was given a time slot but the engineer was held up on another job rang me straight away explaining the situation and letting me know when he would be arriving (which was only 10 minutes later than the original time slot) looked at what I had asked about explained everything told me what I needed and even sorted out a discount. 100% quality service if your thinking of contacting this company STOP thinking just do it you wont find better
Thank you so much for your work done 15/7/26. It never passed through my head that a door would need servicing. Suppose after 14years of opening and closing slamming and locking takes its toll. Brandon explained everything properly took his time to make sure everything was spot on,lock the alignment of the door. And now its like new. Cheers for everything these guys are highly recommended on my list.
Great experience with this company. My 86 year old grandmother had been ripped off and intimidated by a dodgy firm for a routine lock change that installed a cheap lock (costing around £6) and made a mess of the door such that the handle would stick down, charging her £430 for the privilege. Unsurprisingly my blood was boiling when I heard this, and wanted to find a reputable, local company to sort it out for her. I live in Manchester so had to organise the service on her behalf remotely. After receiving a quote and a same-day booking from Charlotte I was confident that this was a decent firm. Charlotte took the time to understand my situation and preferences (e.g. I didn’t want my nan to have to worry about the cost so I requested an invoice directly to me), and was up-front with the quote which was honoured. The locksmith Nick contacted me before the visit and showed real professionalism and content of character in his dealings with my nan, who was feeling quite upset after being intimidated by the other company. Front door couldn’t be opened due to failure of multipoint locking system gearbox. Shefflock responded quickly, gained entry without breaking anything or causing mess, serviced the door and replaced the gearbox. Brandon the engineer then spent nearly an hour making further adjustments to ensure the mechanism worked as smoothly as possible and hoovered up when done. A very polite, professional young man and a credit to the company
