Millar Windows and Doors

Great company to work with. Quick message exchange, appointment to measure sorted, very competitive quote for a replacement door. Contract agreed and order placed, 4 weeks later new door fitted. The quality of the door and fittings are first class. The fitter Stephen was excellent and his workmanship an example to all tradesmen. So good I’m already in the process of getting my windows replaced too. Thoroughly recommended.

Was worse thing I did was get them to look at my 89yr Dad’s door lost count of many times George the owner! Came out messed around with it!! Was asking an absolute fortune to replace a new PVC door with the old mechanism in it at I wanted to keep the intercom in for dad!! Couldn’t believe for price they were not going to replace a new mechanism and a wasn’t going to be guaranteed the guarantee! Felt instead of saying he couldn’t do the job!! Decided on just having the door supposed to be resealed and supposed to have made in draft proof which it isn’t a neighbour actually pointed out to me that it had not been resealed unfortunately a was not on ball at the time as dad had been taking in to hospital totally took advantage of my vulnerability at time!!! And had check to ask for cash in hand!!! Shocking for such a rated company!!!

This company despite its family ‘feel’ is rapacious in its actions. It agreed to carry out a service on or behalf. It made an absolute mess of the measurements, for blinds, that were to be provided. Not one of the blinds fitted. We lost just over £1,000 as the blind manufacturer would not accept returns. We had to pay £1,800 to another company to measure and fit blinds. The kitchen window was an absolute mess and the staff member became annoyed with me when I pointed it out. The mastic left a lot to be desired. The fitters clearly became bored as the moved through the apartment with the last windows to be completed not finished off professionally but instead in an obvious rush. I contacted Millar Windows; the last email was ignored. Hence the public review. It’s desperate need to hold onto to money it should have returned, tells me all I need to know about this company. It cannot, it will not own up to its own mistakes. That makes it untrustworthy. Simple. We would suggest if you’re looking for double glazing look elsewhere. Avoid Millar Windows. RESPONSE TO THE REPLY Had the windows been fitted professionally there would have been no need for this ‘extensive accommodation’ – which consisted of delaying any additional work at our inconvenience. Perhaps that highlights the context you refer to? I did email on the 18th. I received no reply. Your emails were polite but ultimately without substance – much like this reply. You didn’t offer to send a different fitter. I requested a different fitter. Truth matters. When any company begins to bend the truth in an attempt to substantiate its position it speaks to the veracity and integrity of that company. If, as you suggest, your surveyor suggested I wait till the windows were fitted – why did he take the measurements? The attempted argument is both preposterous and without merit. Your surveyor made no such suggestion. The taking of the measurements wasn’t ever about helping me it was about securing a contract, nothing more. The attempt at piety is unedifying. There was no attempt at all to “personally review” anything. This is the stuff of fantasy. Your surveyor provided no explicit advice – he took the measurements. This is a farcical argument. After reading the reply I wouldn’t have your company anywhere near my house. The reply is little more than deflection to save the company’s reputation. Too little, too late. You have chosen to be economical with the truth. That tells me, loudly and clearly, that Millar Windows is bereft of integrity.

Getting windows fitted filled me and my wife with fear due to the size of the job . However from start to finish Millar windows and doors Ltd were excellent. They visited the house measured up and gave us a very reasonable quote very quickly. The Fit itself was done quickly and to a fantastic standard, the fitter Steven didn’t stop and completed the work in the time quoted . Couldn’t be happier with the finish and the service , would 100% recommend this company .

Amazing business. Do not hesitate to use this company. Very quick turnaround, great service. George explained products in a fifteen min survey and there was no hard sell. Even when a supplier let them down with our door delivery. Denise managed this brilliantly and got the door delivered as soon as possible … and then ensured it was fitted the same day. Quality of work fantastic. Our house is a lot warmer now we have replaced windows and the works will have a added great value to our home. Amazing. Thanks to all at Millar windows !!! Highly recommend them.

Absolutely fantastic company. From first contact and George coming out to measure and quote (great prices) thousands of££ cheaper than 3 other companies. The fitting team of Stevie and John are total gentlemen that have done a great job of first doing 6 windows and composite door then again on a composite side garage door and window. All rubbish taken away and full clean up after themselves Honestly 5 stars does not do justice to this company

Just had all of our windows a s doors replaced- what an outstanding job from start to finish! George and Denise were a dream to work with, and Stevie and John were outstanding fitters! The windows and doors are such high quality, the boys cleaned up everything and went above and beyond - nothing was a bother! Cannot recommend this company highly enough!
