Ace Doors

Ace Doors is a window and door installation business based in Sheffield. Keith, the principal, is a time-served Master-joiner with 60 years of experience. He served a five-year bound apprenticeship with G.H. Gilliam & Son Ecclesiastical joinery company in Sheffield in the 1960s.

He has worked on stately homes all over Britain, including Castle Howard and Chatsworth House, and many church interiors. The business only supplies and fits new internal doors from Howdens. Howdens doors are kiln dry and long lasting. All work is guaranteed. Keith uses dust sheets and cleans up after the work.

Internal door fitting is the work that comes up again and again in feedback on this Sheffield joiner, with reviewers describing jobs ranging from a single lounge door to a run of ten doors at once. Keith is named in almost every account, and the praise is consistent: he arrives when he says he will, works cleanly and leaves the areas tidy, and takes time over frames that are out of true rather than rushing the job. Several customers describe his pricing as reasonable for the standard of finish, and one notes that a door was supplied and installed the day after first making contact.

Communication before the work is mentioned repeatedly, including a case where a problem with one door was put right promptly rather than left unresolved. Buyers also value the advice given on choosing doors, and the finished quality is described as brilliant, with the same fitter asked back for further doors. Friendliness rounds off the picture, with Keith described as polite, easy to talk to and a pleasure to have in the home. Repeat business and recommendations to neighbours feature strongly across the accounts.
