Academy Windows & Conservatories

Academy Windows recently fitted our windows, doors, and French doors, and I can honestly say I am very, very impressed with the work. From the beginning to the end, the whole experience was excellent. The team was professional, friendly, and helpful throughout, and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. It was a pleasure dealing with the company, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for new windows or doors.

We recently had some windows and a sliding door installed. Positives: Competitive prices, good installation team and product was good. Negatives: I was only informed that I was required to pay up front for everything (including installation) when the surveyor visited. By this time we had already paid a deposit, and had no recourse. We were also told that we had to pay by credit card to get any form of consumer protection for anything that may go wrong.

New back door fitted in May 2026 to replace the old wooden one in our Victorian terrace. We spoke to a couple of companies, exploring the possibility of a wooden door but rejected that because we didn’t have an overhang and it would have needed repainting every few years. Excellent advice from Louise, who single handedly seems to run the place at Academy in Caversham and is so cheerful - not an ounce of hard sales pressure, just down to earth good common sense. Deposit paid then a site visit for measurement, followed by the full balance and a date about 6 weeks later for fitting. Leigh arrived promptly, was thoroughly professional, making short work of taking out the old door. Quite a shock seeing that gaping hole and exposed brickwork! New door fitted and everything tidied away, no mess left anywhere. We were expecting the kitchen paintwork and frame to need remedial work afterwards, but were delighted how seamless it looked. Leigh explained the security and how to best maintain the mechanisms and was done in about 4 hours. Couldn’t have wished for more or better service from beginning to end. Highly recommend Academy.

Sam helped us initially showing us a good choice of styles and colours for our new door. We purchased a door and side window panel. Fitters Steve and Carl arrived as scheduled and did a very neat job, leaving the area tidy. We are very happy with our purchase and would definitely buy from Academy Windows and Conservatories again.

Installed our windows some years ago, came back to change our doors. Wonderful competent fitter, kept informed by the company throughout and always answered the phone. Very happy with the work done would recommend.

Very easy and pleasant company to do business with. They are professional, communicate clearly and all the work was done on time/on budget. The installation was clean and quick, with the installer taking time to clean up all mess and explain how to lock & look after the door.
