Blackett's Timber Doors & DIY.

Blackett's Timber Doors & DIY is a family-run business that was formed in 1946 by Robert Blackett under the name Blackett & Sons. The company supplies wooden internal and external doors, door furniture, door frames and architraves. It offers a local door fitting service.

It supplies to house builders, interior designers, joiners and the general public. The company offers a like-for-like price match guarantee. It delivers to mainland UK, with some Scottish Highland exceptions. It is unable to supply composite or PVCu doors.

Timber doors for period properties and everyday DIY jobs are what customers associate with Blackett's Timber Doors & DIY. In Newcastle upon Tyne, reviewers describe a well-stocked shop whose staff give clear advice on door choices, with Paul named for his product knowledge and communication before and after installation. The work mentioned includes exterior and interior doors, matching sets, front doors with frames and fanlight windows, and sourcing fittings for older, non-standard openings. Something that features in review after review is fair, reasonable pricing, whether for a quoted installation or items delivered to the door.

Fitting is described as carried out with minimal fuss, and the finished doors are praised for suiting period properties and conservation areas. Customers value the willingness to explain options, and the same firm is used again for later jobs and passed on to friends and family. Several reviewers also note the shop's usefulness for small DIY projects, helped by staff who know their stock and take time to advise. The personal approach, from measuring and quoting through to the final fitting, is a recurring theme.
