Amber Windows

Had a garage door fitted by them- fine in itself, but every couple of months they ring me asking for more work. Really frustrating 90s style pushy marketing tactic.

Sales man came to door then rang numerous times finally told him I wasn’t interested and still 2 weeks later is continuously ringing!

I've read all the reviews good and bad. Sorry for the genuine ones. Our experience was 100% good. Sales. Serveyer. Erectors. All good. Quality product. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...that all Changed today 15th January. 3 men knocking doors ,handed me a Amber leaflet. I said I was interested in having cladding on our upper front wall they said that there wasn't enough money in the job is there anything else I needed.I pointed out we recently over a couple of years had spent over £ 10,000. IE.windows and a porch. Didn't that qualify us .sales man called back and said no it has to be per job

Id leave zero if I could. Awful sales tactics. We had a knock a door rep come to the area, offered a free no obligation quote. we agreed and said all we are after is a quote and wont look to buy until next year. Sales guy in a black Mercedes turns up a few days later. Gave all the bullshit talk for literally an hour, we were after 5 windows and explained we just wanted a quote as we are not buying until the new year... The quote: "We can do it for £12000+". We offered our thanks for the time and quote, then he started to get persistent "Well how much does it need to be to get your business today?". We explained we was only after a quote, he then called the manager and came back with a new offer... "£8750 if we buy today". Again we stated we were only after a quote. He then tried his best to force us into buying on that day, when we refused he threw a tantrum. Called his boss again whilst sitting on our sofa "Yeah, they are not interested as the price is just too much for them, yeah, its always about price". Then hung up and sat there packing up slowly, then decided he needed to sit there and wait to sign out on his insurance which took another 5 mins to do. After gathering his things he left in an arsey manner, couldn't have faked his goodbye anymore. Me and my partner knew he'd be slagging us off on his way home.

Absolutely disgraceful tactics by their so-called salesmen. They camped out at my nan’s house for nearly four hours and refused to leave until she put a deposit down on a service she didn’t even want. One of them even tried to guilt her by saying his kids needed to eat. My mom had to fight to get the money back. Avoid these morally bankrupt scammers at all costs.

As pleasant as your salesman was, having him in my home for 4 hours whilst I cooked tea and put the children to bed, was a BIT MUCH. Had he done me an accurate honest transparent quote in the first instance you would have had my business, quoting 4.5k above competitors, offering me the opportunity for a buy now pay later, 12 months interest free on the difference for £100, before finally returning at 10 o clock at night to offer to price match the competitors provided I sign there and then and would not put anything in writing. Now receiving constant phonecalls. This way of doing business should be relegated to the 1980s. Invite them into your home at your own risk.

AVOID...RIP OFF MERCHANTS. What can I say about my awful experience. I wanted a quote for a front UPVC Door. I went for a Local Big Company who I thought where reasonably reputable AMBER WINDOWS, who have changed there name twice on Gov.UK Companies House records, and are now DEL WER, but still trading under AMBER WINDOWS. They contacted me very quickly within two days, I thought great!! How wrong was I. There Sales person a young man called Aishmal arrived, he came into my home to show me there brochure, I was on my own. Immediately I felt uneasy because of the personal questions being asked. I explained I was on a budget, as most of us are now with the cost of living. After choosing doors I liked, I asked for the price. He rang his office and they quoted me £2800 for the cheapest UPVC door. I was gobsmacked and thought it was astronomical. I told him to forget it, at that he phoned his office again asking for there best price. He quoted me £1800 which was still high in my opinion, after receiving other quotes for around a £1000. I again said 'forget it'. What upset me was if it had been a more older person, they would have been 'ripped off'. I started to get 'Red Flags' at this point I am feeling angry and vunerable, and that I am being ripped off! The Sales person then went on to say 'That he had this happen alot' because of how expensive Amber Windows who he worked for where. He then offered me an alternative, which suprised me, but I know now was most likely a SCAM. He then asked for a drink of water, so I went out room. On returning he was on his phone. He then proceeded to tell me 'To keep it between just us' and not to mention it to Amber, but he had a mate who would do it for alot cheaper £935 plus VAT, and another couple of hundred for something else for everything Amber quoted me for. But I would have to pay him a 50% upfront deposit first, then the rest on completion. At this point more 'Red Flags' I asked for the name of the company they worked for. He said S O Windows.co.uk, and I asked where they based he said Devon. I googled them, could only find them on Facebook. I told him I would never pay upfront till work was completed to my satisfaction. Plus I could pay 50% and never hear from him again, being as so far away. At this point the Sales person gave me his own mob number, and said if I wanted it done to ring him. He was trying to make out he was doing me a favour, shaking my hand. I guess he had done this lots of times before. But I also felt those he spoke to at Amber where in on it too. I felt quite shook up, and angry so later phoned up Amber to moan about the prices they quoted, telling them they were rip off merchants. Next day, I got two phone calls from Amber, which suprised me. The first person pretended to be the Director but was told by Manager was someone at Head Office. But he did apologise for my bad experience at least, but nothing else, after wanting to know how I found Ashmal and how my experience went. So I told him, because I was so angry from start to finish of my experience with them. Then the Manager called me, he said he was over the Sales people, and again wanted to know what had happened. He was totally unsympathetic and never once apologised. Then to top it off, later that day I had a missed call off Ashmal I felt very harrassed at this point. The Manager even tried to warn me off this other company I had found, and was asked how much they are charging. I told him they seemed lovely, a small family run business with good reviews, and they were only charging me £925 for everything. With a breakdown of the 10yr guarantee, and an Installation Certificate, and they were covered by CERTASS. And they sounded very proffessional unlike Amber. He proceeded to tell me to be careful. What a joke! I want nothing more to do with AMBER, they are RIP OFF MERCHANTS. SHAME ON THEM...THEY PICKED ON THE WRONG ONE THIS TIME!!! And will certainly never recommend them ever.
