The Blind Shop

The Blind Shop is an independent, family-owned business with over 25 years of experience in the trade. It has been covering windows and the North East for over 34 years. Formerly the Apollo franchise, it traded from its Sandyford Road showroom for over 34 years.

The company supplies and installs window blinds, shutters, and awnings. It offers a complementary fitting and measuring service, brings samples to customers' homes, and serves the North-East area. The Blind Shop has experience in both the domestic and commercial market.

The Blind Shop earns repeated praise for a service that customers describe as helpful, knowledgeable and well organised from the first enquiry through to fitting. Several reviewers highlight how quickly a home visit was arranged, with one noting that a measuring appointment was booked for the very next day and that the team talked through the available options before any decision was made.

Rob and Mark are named in feedback for their friendly and expert approach, and the advice given on privacy for a ground floor flat led to a shutter installation that was completed neatly and to a high standard. Quality of the finished product comes up often, whether shutters, blinds or an automated blind motor, and more than one review highlights that the result transformed the rooms and provided the privacy that was wanted.

Customers also value the fair pricing, with one account describing how a discontinued motor was sourced at no cost, and another referring to competitive prices for quality blinds. The whole process, from measuring and ordering to the eventual fitting, is described as professional and stress free, and the transformation achieved in a front bedroom and other rooms is a point that comes up often.
