Leicester Glass Company Limited

Leicester Glass Company Limited can trace its origins to 1896, when Mr Hartopp opened a small picture framing business. In 1957, the business passed into the hands of the Hill family, who own it to this day. In 1964, Sam Hill moved the business to Bridge Road, and in 1973 it became incorporated as a limited company.

The company is run by the third generation of Hills and is a Glass and Glazing Federation Registered Company. It services the glass and glazing needs of Leicester, Leicestershire and the East Midlands of England. The company specialises in glass, glazing, double glazing, secondary glazing, UPVC and aluminium doors and windows.

Domestic projects such as mirror panels, bevelled mirrors and replacement glass for bedroom or freezer doors feature prominently in feedback for this Leicester glazier. More than one customer describes workmanship as efficient and meticulous, with glass cut to the exact size requested and fitted so that it looks impressive once in place.

An aspect raised across a number of reviews is the helpfulness of staff, including Ian and his team, who are named for tackling a tricky glass problem on bedroom doors and for sourcing a matching pattern from an old photograph. Reviews regularly refer to clear, short communication, quick turnaround and prices described as fair, with one noting that a bespoke order was ready sooner than promised. The counter staff are praised for wrapping purchases and helping to load items into vehicles without being asked, while advice on fitting glass is singled out as excellent.

Aftercare is also highlighted, particularly honest pricing and support once a job is complete. Small orders are treated with the same care as larger installations, and customers returning for further glass or mirror work describe the service as friendly and professional throughout. The range covers door supply, double glazing installation, glass and mirror sales, and window supply.
